If the door is an exterior door which has an additional deadbolt lock - deadbolts can never be picked with a credit card and call for drilling the lock, picking the lock or kicking down the door.
In case the door has trim around it which will prevent you from opening it with a card, either remove the trim or find an alternative method of opening the door.
If the credit card does not bend enough, a business card may work because it is more flexible.
There is a chance that you may destroy your credit card.
Be cautious not to let your card slide through the door jamb and get stuck on the other side. Be prepared to show proof that you have the right to open the lock, otherwise you might end up behind the sort of confined door that a credit card won't open!
