Enabling The Kids To Work In A Household Profession
If you own your own company, enabling your children to participate in the family business makes tons of sense. Not only are your offspring exempt from some of the tax and labor laws when working for a family owned business in a lot of places, but letting the kids have a sense of ownership could take them far when the family business passes to their hands some day.
Be watchful of your child's age when you begin to work them in the family business. Even young children can take part doing easy tasks like as copying files. As they get older, children can sort papers, file, help prepare shipments, keep track of credit, send faxes and more.
Be tranquil as they decipher and learn tasks clearly. You know your child better than everyone else, so take into account whether he or she can follow multiple directions at once, or if 1 task given at a time is a better idea. If your child can read well, let that child handle more complicated tasks and leave the easier tasks to a smaller child.

Be patient and know that kids are just kids. There may be days when you have a deadline to meet and your kid just wants to fool around. Or there might be days when you just can not get your children to focus. On those days, do your best to remind them of the task at hand and that there is a job to be done first. Once the task is finished, take time to have fun, and relax and enjoy your kids. They need to know you're a parent first, and the boss second.
Use project time to teach your kids the enjoy of earning some money, and the responsibility and mechanics of managing money. Also, help them to become dependable workers, develop a good work ethic, and understand the importance of a job well done.
